Five years ago, a couple of friends decided to host a small party the night before the BlogHer conference so that the very few people that arrived a day early would have a soft place to land and relax, right there at the hotel.
The next year, they invited a few more friends to help them co-host the party. Our mission was simple and clear: Every single conference attendee was invited, no one was to feel left out, and the party had to be on-site and laid-back. It was a party for the people, by the people, and damn it, we were going to make them happy.
This one here had never been to a conference before and got a little carried away with the planning while the others were busy, surprising them with something of an event.
Five years after it started, The People’s Party has changed the landscape of conference parties. When we started, the only night-before-BlogHer party options were a few intimidatingly exclusive, private events designed to cater to a select few “in the know.” Five years later, everyone wants to host a party yet no one unaffiliated with BlogHer wants to demand that it remain open to everyone. To hell with that.
The People’s Party was created for everyone. We hated hearing bloggers worry about whether or not they were invited to this private party or that one and loathed seeing people feel left out. Conferences are nerve-wracking enough as they are, no one needs rejection added to the chaos. Worse, all of these private parties segment the conference population into tiny little groups, dividing friends according to invitation lists, watering down everyone’s focus and enthusiasm the very night we should be amping up!
We need open arms and smiling faces. Lots of them. We need good music and open doors.
Everyone you want to see, in one place, on-site, steps from your hotel room so you can throw your bags in the door and kick back the night before the conference begins.
Everyone invited. Always.
Five years later, BlogHer has grown exponentially and so have the demands of keeping up with hosting a party for now thousands of women. Last year, The People’s Party officially partnered with BlogHer so that we could continue to keep our doors open to every last conference attendee, providing a fabulous, laid-back, happy place to let loose the night before BlogHer.
A party for the people, by the people. Always.
We are thrilled to once again invite you

As the People’s Party has grown with BlogHer, we have also steadfastly remained committed to keeping our party as intimate as possible. We have some tricks up our sleeves this year to make your experience even better than years passed. We are so excited!
And yes, we are paying special attention to our traditional “bathroom party” with The Bloggess, designed for those of you prone to feeling a little overwhelmed. I’m not sure if we’ll finally be able to swing a bartender in there, but we’re working on it.
You’ll love it. All of it. And we can not wait to see you there!
A party for the people, by the people. Always.
