Hiatus Haters Say What?
How do you like that? I just up and didn't post again for over a week. Random hiatuses are my specialty.
I thought I would try that trick people keep talking about called "saving posts to draft for a rainy day," but apparently that is only good if you are currently publishing other posts. Plus, now I no longer care about the stuff I saved to draft.
Surprising how quickly you can get over the melodramatics if you aren't analyzing every little detail. Drama? Eh. Not for me.
So instead of posting on my own blog, I've been reading blogs. I've been culling great content for Blog Nosh Magazine, trying to distract myself while I quietly bemoan the fact that school starts for my boys next week. Yeah, I hated going to school myself and I now hate it for my boys.
But shhhhh... I don't want them to know that. I want them to love school and grow up to be wicked smaht and hilarious, laid back and confident.
More on that later, because I do have a plan. A sort of "how to build a better man" plan.
In the meantime, it has been party time in these parts. Come to find out, it was Goose's 2nd birthday while I was at BlogHer. Then Mr. Pee Pants turned 4 the next week. Clearly, this spelled... Kung Fu!!!

(sweet picture, right? gah, I am hawt when I'm doing mah moves)
I know I rarely post pictures of my boys (as some of you have remarked, "I didn't even know you had two little boys!" Oops.), so here you go.

What you see above is a glimpse into the rest of our lives:
Mr. Pants eating carefully with a fork and Goose shoving cake into his mouth with his hands, sporting the glazed-over expression that suggests he has entered "the zone."
God, I love having boys.
And we love kung fuuuuuuuuu!!!!!!!

Great photos... I should totally dress up in Kung Fu apparel for my birthday. That seems like a good way to celebrate!

I would like my own kung fu party please.

Awwww, so glad you're back! I was getting a little tired of skinny dirty Tom Hanks.
Happy Belated Birthday, Mr. Pee Pants!!

So...freaking...awesome!
We're also big fans of Kung Fu Panda. We have the Xbox game and I use it to bribe my kids to be good. If they're getting out of line, I saw, "Who wants to be a good panda?" and they recognize the implied threat that if they're bad pandas, they don't get to play Kung Fu Panda.

fun times. Love the pics of you in the real world.
;-)
I'm one of those that would rather read quality than quantity. You're rockin' it over at Blog Nosh and that in and of itself is amazing and totally understandable that you wouldn't have time to post over here.

Kung Fu Panda? I think I laughed more than my kids and (shh) it has been my husband's favorite this summer.
Good stuff.

Adorable photos. Bad kung fu moves.

We haven't seen Kung Fu yet (WE ARE ALL ABOUT AVOIDING THE THEATRE), but those photos are priceless.
(Also did not know you had two boys. We really need to chat more.)

Did you get the Kung Foo Panda cd-rom in your free goodies at Blogher? I would be happy to send it your way if you didn't.

Awww...
I knew you had boys, but I had no idea how adorable the are. Seriously, we need to get together for a play date. Except that we live relatively far apart. Damn distance.

I can NOT believe they are 4 and 2 - I don't want to, because this means that my own two hit those ages all too soon for my liking.
Goose is looking so grown up - and, very like his big brother.
Great pics, Megan.

Sniff. I'd wondered where you'd been.
I wish we could have come to this year's party, you throw a mean bash!

LOOooooove the kung fu costumes! Super cute boys. I can't wait to hear your man-raising plan as it sounds like something I'd like to follow for my boy.
I met you for about a minute at BHO8 at the beginning of the People's Party. I was still feeling pretty shy (never quite got over that) so not sure I even introduced myself properly. I'm sorry!
Anyway, this comment is as good a place as any to tell you that I thought the People's Party rocked, I loved my swag bag, I'm pleased that I got to meet you in person, however briefly, and furthermore, I think BlogNosh is freaking awesome and I don't blame you one bit for hiatus-ing here (made up words are okay?) -- sadly, I wouldn't exactly notice since I can't seem to keep up on my blog reading so to me, it's like you never left!
End of love-fest.

They are so cute! I don't know if I could handle a boy, but when they're this stinkin' cute it rather makes me hope I get to find out next time around.

You are my hiatus-taking hero. Seriously. I love that you do it and I'm gonna do it too, whenever I feel like it, no explanations.
I love these pictures. I love balance. I love life-livin'. I love saying I love things, apparently.
Rock on, girl.

I can't believe you said you hated your kids going to school...so did I and I let them take off every day we could...isn't that an awful example for mom or grandma...don't tell..I just wanted them to love home and they to this moment do...can that be so bad..great photos of you and the boys. My Noah just left with my daughter....I miss him already...five is such a lovely age for grandma's...we enjoy all stages however five they are more in tune...and they crack me up when they talk at that age...they even have the funniest opinions... sorry I'm babbling so much..
hugs..me

Cute pics. Funny, the utensils are used the other way around at our house. 3yo likes his hands and the 1.5yo likes his "poon".

I"m going to think about some old, neglected blogposts for Blog Nosh this week, great idea!

Oh a kung fu party looks like fun! DD already has her pirate party booked in for next year, she'll only be two so she doesn't know what I'm talking about, but she looked excited when I asked her she wanted pirates instead of fairies, so there you go.
