Q. Can I pass out materials at the event?
A. One of the most widespread complaints we received about BlogHer ’09 was that sponsored bloggers were distributing unwanted materials to other attendees. We received overwhelming feedback that unsolicited materials from sponsored attendees were unappreciated and left a negative impression of both the attendee and the sponsor.

The evolution of social media conference protocol fascinates me. What seems like common sense to so many of us (for instance, don't knock people over to grab swag and then hit the door running, jackass) just doesn't seem to occur to other people. Hence, the need to spell it out.
I can't help but get a kick of the spelling-it-out. This is a great, clear explanation of how to handle personal blogger sponsorships at the 2010 BlogHer conference in New York.
$20 we'll see any one of these bad behaviors within the first 10 minutes in the door. I dare you to be the punk that rats people out. That said, PLEASE don't be the punk that needs to be ratted out. For the love of Blog!

Weird that while some complained, some killed each other for backpacks.
Cant win for losing.
Maybe bloggers should call it like it is...give me your money so i can go on this trip for free because otherwise I cant afford it, cant make connections, and cant continue to link to your product driving up your SEO. Its total win/win on the cash front.
Or is that blackmail?
